Introduction to Ayurveda

  • Tridosha theory (3 humors ) : Tridosha defines the three fundamental energies or principles which govern the function of our bodies on the physical and emotional level. The three energies are known a vata, pitta, and kapha. Each individual has a unique balance of all three of these energies.
  • Sapta dhatu: The word “dhatu” comes from a Sanskrit word which means “that which enters into the formation of the body”. The primary Dhatus are seven in number.
  • Prakriti Analysis (Body constitution): Prakriti is defined as the state of an individual in its natural form. Ayurveda classifies people on the basis of prakriti, as every person is supposed to have a fixed prakriti that is formulated by the condition of Tridosha at the time of union of sperm and ovum inside the uterus. Predominance of any one, two or all 3 doshas (body humors) determines the Prakriti of an individual.
  • Nutrition : Ayurveda is clear on this: all health starts with digestion; with the proper metabolism of food. Food is considered just as powerful as medicine. In fact, there is a sloka (writings of the ancient texts of ayurveda) that says “food is medicine when consumed properly.”

Introduction to Patanjali Yoga sutra

  • The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali are a collection of 196 sutras (aphorisms) on the theory and practice of yoga. The Yoga Sutras were compiled prior to 400 CE by Sage Patanjali who synthesized and organized knowledge about yoga from older traditions.

From the moment you arrive in Kerala – India, your rejuvenation begins. Your daily morning and evening sessions include purification fire rituals.

In this retreat, you will enjoy excursions through an elephant farm as well as a boat trip in the backwaters of Varkala which covers Kappil.

Ayurvedic massage

An Ayurvedic massage is included in the retreat. You will receive a massage that will stimulate and strengthen the lymphatic system, increasing circulation, and opening the flow of life force in order to cleanse and revitalize the body.

In addition, essential oils used in Ayurvedic massages are very nourishing and detoxifying, it is anti-aging and leaves the skin soft and shiny. Ayurvedic massages provide other benefits as relief of stress and the generation of happy hormones to make you feel better.

Pranic energy healing

One Pranic Healing or Magnified Healing session is included during the retreat. Prana is a Sanskrit word that means life-force. The pranic energy healing or yoga Prana Vidya is a no touch, no drug energy based healing system. It works on the energy body which in turn balance, harmonize, and transform the body’s energy processes. Healing sessions usually last 45 minutes to one hour.

    Had an amazing honeymoon in India. Tour booking procedure was pretty smooth and I did not face any issue. Made memories in India and enjoyed very much.
